  • The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer by Siddhartha Mukherjee (Fourth Estate, 2011):  One of the most comprehensive books on cancer yet written, it is a hugely ambitious history of the disease. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Non-fiction in 2011. [Available on Amazon UK]
  • One Renegade Cell: The Quest for the Origins of Cancer by Robert A Weinberg (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, 2013): Written by the famed professor of biology at M.I.T., best known for his research into oncogenes and the genetics of cancer. A landmark book in the field. [Available on Amazon UK]
  • Like A Hole In The Head: Living With A Brain Tumour by Ivan Noble (Hodder & Stoughton, 2005): Noble was a science and technology writer for BBC News, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2002. This book is a collection of his candid online columns from 2002-2005. [Available on Amazon UK]
